In your age you have ever noticed a band of light which is circular in appearance surround the moon? This is called the moon ring also called lunar halo.

What is a lunar halo?

It is a phenomenon that belongs to the ice-crystals family. It is ring in appearance. When this ring appears around the moon it is called Halo or a moon ring. The ring is large. It is much more frequently than rainbows .Halos have many forms in which some are close to moon and some are close to sun. The best type is the circular halo which is properly called the 22° halo. 

According to this light is reflected by the ice crystals and then broke into colors just because of dispersion. Then the crystals which is formed from light behave like prisms and mirrors.  Its size as your open hand on your outstretched arm. But the size of moon is around your nail when you hold your hand.

What does folklore say about a lunar halo?

Folklore say that the moon ring is a forefather of unsettled season

It is particularly important in winter months. Moon ring is more common now a days. So if you need to see it then watch on the sky at night.

Causes of halo ring around the man

Its causes are when light of moon passes through the clouds of ice crystals which is high on the atmosphere of earth. When light passes by this through  the crystals of ice then it is bent in that way when a light passes through a lens. The shape of the crystals dfocused on the moon ring. The drops of water that are present in the atmosphere can straighten to develop a rainbow. It is beautiful in appearance. Whereas some people predict that moon ring  means bad weather. But this is just their superstitious activity there is nothing like this.

Why moon ring is called the 22 degree halo?

The halos sometimes appears around the moon when the ice crystals that are present in the air reach at high altitude. Then the most common is the 22 degrees halo, so called, also the angle between them is 22°.

Do you know when moonring comes into view in the sky?

The very common answer about the question is it may appear  just in unknown time. It may appear in more than a year' a decade or even a century. Recently it has  appeared in the sky in april. People have different views about it... Some consider it to be a circle of clouds ' few consider it to be a natural entity and some others have other irrelevant views about it .. But the only just answer about it is the one which i have explained earlier. So yoy need not to worry why it appears or so.. It is just a scene : a beautiful scene..

Does a moonring can be considered as a supermoon?

NO' it is wrong moonring is a quite different entity from supermoon. Supermoon is something other. Supermoon is the full moon in its closest approach to earth. This point is PERIGEE. And this moon is called supermoon. While a moonring is just a ring around the moon. So i hope that from now on you will not be confused with the terms moonring and supermoon.

Now your mind will be circulating that now what is MICROMOON?

    I  can understand because our brain keeps on learning about the new terms relevant to our known terms . I can understand this because i m also a human not anyone other.

MICROMOON is the full moon in its farthest approach away from earth' this point is APOGEE' and this is called the micromoon. Now you are able to say that 

          Micromoon is exactly opposite to.                                        Supermoon.
